Carmenère

/car-men-AIR/

Carmenère is a Bordeaux grape that nearly vanished after phylloxera, only to be rediscovered thriving in Chile, where it had been mistakenly planted as Merlot. Chile is now the world's leading grower, producing deeply coloured, structured wines with pronounced green-pepper and spice character that are impossible to mistake.
